Safari Plan
Our 3-day safari takes you to Lake Manyara, the World Heritage Site Ngorongoro Crater and Tarangire National Park. It is designed to offer visitors with time constraints a short but very intense Tanzania wildlife safari experience. You will experience the excitement of an African wildlife safari or even a photographic safari in 3 of the most spectacular national game parks in Tanzania.
You will be picked up at the hotel and then head to the Tarangire National Park. Giant baobab trees, bush savannah, and the seasonal marshes add to the wonder of this nature reserve. The Tarangire National Park is considered one of the best places to view elephants up close. The park is also home to buffaloes, zebras, and wildebeests, which are always closely followed by a range of predators, such as lions. Leopards are seen now and then, but cheetahs are rarely spotted. From the open roof of the safari vehicle, you will be able to absorb the landscape and watch the animals. In the late afternoon, you will leave the park and drive to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.
On this day, we will head to the Ngorongoro Crater and descend over 600 meters into the crater to view wildlife for a half-day safari tour. Supported by an all-year-round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro Crater supports a vast variety of animals, which include herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephant. Another big drawcard to this picturesque crater is its dense population of predators, which includes lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and the ever-elusive leopards, which sometimes require a trained eye to spot. We will visit Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner, which is one of the main features of the crater. A large number of flamingos, hippos and other waterbirds can be seen here. In the evening, we will start ascending from the crater and head to the lodge for our overnight stay.
After breakfast, we will head to Lake Manyara National Park. The park is dominated by a lake of the same name, which attracts large colonies of waterbirds. Particularly impressive are the pink-coloured flamingos, but many other bird species, such as cormorants, pelicans, and storks, can also be observed here. A total of about 400 different bird species live in the park. The park is also famous for its tree-climbing lions, which are usually found in the central and open parts of the park. During the safari, you will also see elephants, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, hippos and many other animal species. In the late afternoon, you leave the national park for Arusha.
